Position/Title: Senior Property Accountant
Reports to: Chief Accounting Officer
Start Date: Immediately
Location: Birmingham, AL
Under the direction and supervision of the Chief Accounting Officer, the Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements for various properties. Specific responsibilities include financial statement preparation and analysis, bank reconciliation preparation/review, journal entry approval, audit participation, research, and accounts payable review.

Under the direction and supervision of the Chief Accounting Officer, the Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements for various properties. Specific responsibilities include financial statement preparation and analysis, bank reconciliation preparation/review, journal entry approval, audit participation, research, and accounts payable review.
Responsibilities Include:
- Record and reconcile financial information.
- Review and post accounts payables and accounts receivable batches.
- Reconcile bank statements.
- Process monthly journal entries accordingly.
- Review general ledger for accuracy prior to month-end close.
- Produce monthly reporting packages for each client’s properties on your team.
- Review management fees calculations.
- Prepare owner funding request.
- Work closely with Property Managers regarding questions on properties.
- Assist management with special projects when requested.
Experience, Skills & Requirements:
- College degree required, plus a minimum of 2+ years’ accounting experience.
- Yardi experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Good foundation of basic accounting principles.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Professional communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, growing work environment
